USA – The Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co. of Idaho, commonly referred to as the Idaho Farm Bureau Insurance, is hoping to improve its customer service by implementing the Thunderhead NOW platform.

The insurer has said that it is trying to streamline its communications and improve how it generates and manages documentation, in an attempt to deliver a better service to its customers.

Idaho Farm Business Insurance was founded more than half a century ago in 1947 by farmers in the state and has gone on to become one of the industry’s leading auto and farm insurers in Idaho. The selected software company, Thunderhead, is a top provider of business user-driven software, delivering multi-channel capability and a previously unseen level of personalisation.

The director at IFBI Adam Waldron said that the communications software will allow the company to take more customer feedback on board much quicker and generally help the insurer keep its unrivalled standard of customer service at a high level.

Mr Waldron continued to say that the IFBI has a good track record for delivering high standards of customers service and thought that it was essential the company updated its technology as customers and staff become more “technologically savvy” themselves.

In addition to the main goal of maintaining high levels of customer service, Thunderhead NOW will reduce the amount of paper the insurer generates and ensure that the company always complies with changing regulations. The communications software will also integrate other technology that the Idaho Farm Bureau Insurance uses, these include ImageWrite and Guidewire.

In a statement Thunderbird said that the insurer’s current communications and documentation output system was inflexible and could not involve all customers in the process. The printing system was fixed, making it incredibly difficult for policy holders to change any information on their insurance or for employees to add new customer communications into the system.

Thunderhead, who were selected by the Idaho Farm Insurance Bureau after an RFP process, claims that the NOW system will cut the insurer’s costs, allowing it to turn its focus to customer’s needs.
